バークレイズ、コーポレート・バンキング業務の国内金融機関営業チームを強化

バークレイズ・グループのコーポレート・バンキング部門では、このたび、東京を拠点に国内金融機関を担当する顧客リレーションシップ・ディレクター職を新設し、小堺さよ子（こざかい・さよこ）を起用いたしました。

小堺は、バークレイズ入社前はシティバンク銀行グローバル・コーポレート・バンキング部門にて金融機関・ノンバンク営業を担当しました。シティバンク銀行入行以前は、ドイツ銀行東京支店にて国内メガバンクと60行以上の地銀を担当しました。こうした営業経験に加え、ソシエテ・ジェネラル東京支店にてコーポレート・マーケティング、クレジット・アドミニストレーション業務に4年間従事した経験を有しています。

このたびの小堺の起用は、アジア地域およびグローバル金融機関向けコレスポンデント・バンキング・サービスの提供に注力しながら高成長を目指すという、バークレイズの金融機関営業体制強化の一環です。同部門アジア地域金融機関統括責任者であるグウィン・マスターの直属となります。

小堺はこのたびの起用について次のように述べています。「バークレイズは現在、金融機関向け業務を大幅に拡大しています。折しも今年は世界最大規模の銀行カンファレンスであるSibos（サイボス）が大阪で開催されることもあり、今後の金融機関向け業務のさらなる拡大、またバークレイズ幹部と国内有力金融顧客との関係を密にするために深い意味を持ちます」。

Barclays Corporate Banking Strengthens its Global Financial Institutions Team with Japan Appointment

Barclays corporate banking business has appointed Sayoko Kozakai as Relationship Director, Financial Institutions, Japan, in a new role based in Tokyo as a part of its effort to strengthen its Financial Institutions team in Asia.

Sayoko joins Barclays from Citibank Japan, Global Corporate Banking, where she was responsible for financial institutions and non-bank financial institutions clients. Prior to joining Citibank, Sayoko worked with Deutsche Bank Tokyo, responsible for the ‘Mega Banks’ in Japan and more than 60 regional banks. In addition to this sales experience, Sayoko spent four years in corporate marketing and credit administration roles with Societe Generale Tokyo. She is fluent in Japanese, French and English.

The appointment of Sayoko is part of a major growth drive for the Barclays Financial Institutions team, with a focus on providing a broad range of transaction banking solutions to Asian and global financial institutions. Sayoko will report to Gwynne Master, Head of Financial Institutions for Barclays corporate banking in Asia.

Commenting on her appointment, Sayoko said: “It is good to be joining Barclays at a time when the bank’s financial institution business is expanding significantly, and it is timely that the world’s largest transaction banking conference, Sibos, is being held in Osaka, so we have the opportunity to link up our senior team with key Japanese FI clients.”

Gwynne Master said: “Barclays has a long history in Japan, particularly through our investment bank business, and it was a natural step for us to appoint a dedicated Japanese transaction banking specialist. Sayoko’s wealth of experience and excellent contacts within the industry mean she is a natural choice for the role.”
