バークレイズ・キャピタル証券、山川哲史をジャパン・リサーチ・コーヘッドに起用

【2010年5月11日、東京】 – バークレイズ・キャピタル証券株式会社は、6月10日付で山川哲史（やまかわ・てつふみ）をマネージング・ディレクター、ジャパン・リサーチ・コーヘッドとして起用します。山川は、円債、外債、日本経済、為替、金融機関戦略およびインデックス･ポートフォリオ･リスク･ソリューションについてのリサーチを担当するグループを率いることとなります。山川は、リサーチ・アジア・パシフィック地域統括責任者であるジョン・スコフィンの下で業務にあたります。

山川は、今後は株式調査部の責任者を務める千綿甲一郎とともにジャパン・リサーチ・コーヘッドを務めることになります。千綿は2008年に株式調査部長としてバークレイズ・キャピタル証券株式会社に入社しました。

山川は、バークレイズ・キャピタル証券株式会社入社以前は、ゴールドマン・サックス証券株式会社にて通算16年間在籍し、主に日本経済の調査分析に従事してきました。2000年より、同社の汎アジア経済調査統括部長を務めました。また、ゴールドマン・サックスに1994年に入社以前は、15年間日本銀行に在籍し、日本の金融機関を通じたクロス・ボーダーのファンドフローについての調査分析、多彩な分析手法を用いた金融政策分析、また金融政策に関連した日銀主催の各種国際会議の開催などに従事していました。

Barclays Capital Japan appoints Tetsufumi Yamakawa as Co-head of Japan Research

Tokyo –11 May 2010 – Barclays Capital is pleased to announce the appointment of Tetsufumi Yamakawa as Managing Director, Co-head of Japan Research. He will be based in the Tokyo office, and will report to Jon Scoffin, Barclays Capital’s Head of Research Asia Pacific. Yamakawa will assume leadership of the Japan Fixed Income research group - comprising economic research, fixed income strategy, non-yen research, FX research, bank financial strategies and Index, Portfolio and Risk Solutions.

At Barclays Capital, Yamakawa will partner with Koichiro Chiwata, who will assume responsibility as Co-Head of Japan Research. Chiwata joined Barclays Capital in October 2008 as Head of Equity Research, Japan.

Yamakawa joins Barclays Capital on 10 June from Goldman Sachs Japan, where he spent 16 years, with a primary focus on analysing the Japanese economy. Since 2000, Yamakawa has been co-head of Pan Asia Economics Research. Prior to joining Goldman in 1994, Yamakawa had a 15-year career at the Bank of Japan. During his time at the BoJ, his responsibilities included the analysis of cross-border funds flow through Japanese financial institutions, analysis of monetary policy through its various channels, as well as organising the international conference on the central banks' prudence policy hosted by the BoJ.
