Barclays Capital Appoints Jeff Walker as Head of Insurance Coverage, Financial Institutions Group, Asia Pacific

Hong Kong, 9 November 2011 - Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, today announces the appointment of Jeff Walker as Managing Director, Head of Insurance, Financial Institutions Group, Asia Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Walker will have responsibility for leading the origination of strategic, financing and risk management transactions for Barclays Capital’s insurance clients in Asia Pacific.

Mr. Walker joins Barclays Capital from Daiwa Capital Markets Hong Kong as Managing Director and Head of Insurance, Asia Pacific. Previously, he was the CEO of Prudential Assurance in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Prudential Assurance, Mr Walker spent most of his career at New York Life, most recently as President and CEO of New York Life Hong Kong.
