Barclays Capital Appoints Philip Tsao Head Of Global Finance & Risk Solutions, Greater China

Hong Kong, 4 July 2011 – Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Tsao, as Managing Director, Head of Global Finance and Risk Solutions for Greater China. This appointment further highlights the continued commitment of Barclays Capital to Asia Pacific.

Mr. Tsao will be responsible for spearheading Barclays Capital’s financing and risk management franchise for corporate clients and financial intermediaries throughout Greater China. Based in Hong Kong, he will provide senior coverage for clients in identifying and capturing business opportunities across the complete spectrum of capital raising and risk management.

Mr. Tsao brings over 20 years of experience in investment banking, with deep knowledge across products including fixed income, equities, cash and derivatives. He joins Barclays Capital from Morgan Stanley where he was Managing Director in the Institutional Equities division, providing equity solutions to sovereign wealth funds, pensions and insurers across Asia Pacific. Previously, Mr. Tsao served as President of China Development Industrial Bank in Taiwan. Prior to this he held a number of management roles across capital markets at UBS, Goldman Sachs and Citibank.
